Hydrogen Engine Projects That Can Save You Money
Many people are aware of the fuel crisis facing America, and some of these people feel that hydrogen power is the solution to dwindling oil supplies. However, they also think they have to buy a really expensive hybrid vehicle when all that's needed is to embark on one of the many hydrogen engine projects that will allow them to produce a hydrogen generator. Anyone can build or install a generator in a car. Granted, some of the kits are pretty expensive, but you don't really need an expensive kit to work with. Hydrogen generators give lots of different benefits to your car's performance and the surrounding environment.
HHO is called that because of its similarity to the formula for water, H2O. The kits use a process that was invented by a man named Yull Brown. The process, called electrolysis, works by splitting apart the molecules of water into their hydrogen and oxygen atoms to create the two individual gases by using an electrical current. Hydrogen and oxygen are then sent through the air pump into the engine's main combustion chamber, adding to the fumes that are being burned in order to produce the heat needed to work the engine. In other words, if you decide to switch part of your fuel supply to an HHO kit, you're actually going to be partially fuelling your car with common tap water.
The constraints of extra water tanks, and the additional weight it produces prevents you from fully switching to water, but hydrogen generators can still get a very respectable boost in your car's gas mileage and performance. It's been known to increase fuel efficiency by up to 50%.
In addition to the environmental and vehicle cost/maintenance benefits, HHO kits can help you save a lot of money, both in terms of gas costs and car maintenance. Also, you can receive tax credits thanks to the various government incentives that are given to those who are pursuing a green lifestyle to promote the welfare of the environment. Also, you can make your engine more efficient, because the burning of gasoline causes residue to build in the engine and causes it to become less efficient. Water vapor leaves no such residue. Also, hydrogen and oxygen are two naturally occurring elements in the atmosphere unlike carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, which is what normal car exhaust is.
If you have a basic understanding of mechanics, tools and the workings of cars, you can easily build and install an HHO generator from a hydrogen generator kit. You can actually make your own out of commonly available household and repair items. However, it's better to get one with some form of condenser. All you need is a container with distilled water, electrical wire, rubber hose and baking soda. These kits can be removed from your car just as easily as they're added, with no danger to your warranty.
Embarking on hydrogen engine projects has plenty of benefits to the environment, your car and also your wallet, because you're lessening the amount of emissions being put into the atmosphere. Also, you pay less when you go to the gas pump, because you only have to put in half as much gasoline in the best of cases.
